Home Game Center Game CenterGame Takes Game Takes: Jeffersonville 75 Silver Creek 48 By Patrick Wooley - December 15, 2023 FacebookTwitterReddIt Appropriately, this game was delayed because of burnt popcorn and the fire alarm going off but even the delay could not hold back the Red Devils tonight. The visiting Dragons came in 6-0 and #3 in the 3A polls and left The Inferno with their first loss. The 1st quarter was competitive with both teams trading buckets but by halftime Jeff had built a 12 point lead en route to a 27 point win. This game showed me what I wanted to see the rest of the season going forward for the Devils if they want to be true state contenders. ● 6'8 junior big Tre Singleton plays big but in reality is a 4 at the next level. He can step out and hit the open 3 as well as handle the ball. Tre has a quick spin and good athleticism to dunk over opponents. I've seen Singleton get mean and be unstoppable and would like to see that consistently to become the dominant force in southern Indiana going forward. Tre finished with 16 ● 6'4 junior PJ Douglas is a mismatch nightmare at the high school level. He is too strong and good inside for smaller defenders but also too shifty and ball handler for bigger guys. PJ is money from 6-8 feet on his jump shot. He looks like a tweener for the next level but has always been a part of a winner and just gets the job done whenever I've seen him since middle school. Douglas could be described as a point/strong 4. PJ ended up tied for a game high 18. ● 6'3 junior 2 guard Michael Cooper is the sharpshooter on a team full of them. Mike can get hot from behind the arc in a hurry. When he looks to be aggressive getting to the basket he's really tough to stop. Coop can get downhill most of the time and is a true 2 guard that handles the point duties some. I can see Mike getting serious looks and PT at the NAIA level if not higher. Cooper tallied 16 points. ● 6'2 Dragon sophomore Kasen Daeger led SC with 18 on the night. Daeger has one of the quickest releases I've seen in a while. One of the best shooters from deep in the south, if not the entire state. Once he gets a little stronger on his drives downhill he will start to receive serious low major D1 looks. Expect Daeger to blow up statewide in the next few years and is a future Indiana all star candidate. ● Speaking of future Indiana All star candidates, SC freshman point guard Brandon Hunter is a legit threat for a spot on that future roster scoring 11. Hunter will undoubtedly break the Dragons all time assist record when its all said and done but I was impressed with the range on his shot. He has a fluid motion and shoots it well from deep. The Dragons are a young team and will benefit from Hunter's vision on the floor. Brandon is a legit top 10-15 freshman in the entire state. I can see him having D1 options when it's all said and done.
