It was a big week for Ben Davis, and while it is a team effort, winning the Marion County Tournament, POTW tends to go to one player. The impact Zane Doughty has doesn’t always show up neatly on a stat column. There is no ‘glue to the defense’ column. Until FG% is broken down to the granular level like it is at the NBA level, we won’t know what the opposition’s FG% is at the basket when a player is involved in contesting it
However, we can see both of those traits in real time. (It helps being there to watch it.) Here is the week Doughty had:
-
- vs Beech Grove 11 points 15 rebounds 3 blocks
- vs Warren central 10 points 8 rebounds 3 blocks
- vs Southport 22 points 16 rebounds 3 blocks
- vs Lawrence North – 17 points, 12 rebounds, 3 blocks
On top of that, Doughty broke Ben Davis’ all-time rebounding record. All of that makes Zane Doughty Courtside Indiana’s Player of the Week for the week of January 9-14.
