Concordia came out and took it to Northside right away tonight. Ajani Washington came out hot and had Concordia up 23-7 early in the 2nd quarter. Brauntae Johnson (Tae Tae) lead the charge for Northside and brought them all the way back to within 3 with 50+ seconds left in the 4th after an and 1. Johnson hit the free throw and said the magic word and got his 2nd technical of the night and was done for the game. Ended up being a really entertaining game and a showdown of two of Fort Wayne’s best players Washington and Johnson.

* Junior guard Ajani Washington was the man tonight for Concordia. Saw him earlier in the year vs Blackhawk Christian and he couldn’t get much going. Tonight hie had it going from all levels. Washington hit 4 3’s and a few pull up jumpers as well. Coming into tonight, Washington was averaging 13.9 ppg. He finished with 29 tonight.

*Senior Joe Tapp was big for Concordia as well tonight. Tapp has a knack for getting in the paint and pulling up from about 8 feet. All of his buckets tonight were exactly that. Tapp finished with 12.

* Junior Tae Tae Johnson was the lone bright spot for the Northside legends tonight. Johnson got off to a slower start but started getting downhill in the 2nd quarter. We’ve talked about it before, but Tae Tae getting downhill is a PROBLEM. Johnson had 11 at half and 25 in the 2nd half. Ended with 36 points. Johnson had a big time block off the glass on Ajani Washington in the 3rd quarter and picked up a technical. Johnson had a huge and 1 with 51 seconds left to pull the Legends within 3, but picked up his second technical and was done for the game. Johnson surpassed 1,000 points last night as well in his junior year.
