Starting the week with 28 points, 10 assists, 6 rebounds and 4 steals in a win over Fishers, Braden Smith set the tone for the week that he was on a mission, leading Westfield to the first sectional championship in their school's 104 year history. The 6'1" senior point guard added 22 points, 7 assists, 3 rebounds and 2 steals in win over Hamilton Southeastern. Both of those wins were by decisive margins, which they controlled from the start.
Getting over the Carmel hump was the last and toughest task, but the Purdue commit did just that, totaling 22 points, 7 assists, 7 rebounds and a steal. Smith also hit 13 3PTers on the week. All of that, as well as winning one of the top two sectionals in the state earns Braden Smith Courtside Indiana's Player of the Week for week of the sectionals.

Noblesville 67, Zionsville 53
Out to an 8-0, maintaining a two to three possession lead the entire first half, thanks in part to Luke Almadovar and EJ Smith's scoring. Zionsville scored the first two baskets in the 2nd half to cut their five point deficit down to one, but an Almadovar 3PTer sparked a 9-0 run. Preston Roberts' 15 points in the second half sealed the deal for Noblesville.
Westfield 62, Fishers 44
Westfield never trailed in this game, and while they didn't have the early control that Noblesville did in the first game, the game got out of hand after Jalen Haralson picked up his second foul shortly after a 2nd quarter timeout. Westfield, ahead 17-12, stretched their lead to 30-15. Westfield pushed their lead to 20 quickly to start the second half and rarely looked back.
Stuffing the stat sheets typically gets you accolades. Bobby Wonnell put up 32 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals vs. Providence Cristo Rey. In their win over Madison-Grant, the 6'2" senior guard added 24 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals. To cap off Taylor's undefeated week Wonnell 31 points, 13 rebounds 11 assists and 3 steals. A great week, including a triple-double is why Bobby Wonnell Jr. is Courtside Indiana's Player of the Week for the week of February 21-26

I think we've had a sophomore win this before, but it's still very rare to get a sophomore put up these stat lines. In their win over Providence, Jack Benter, scored 24 points with 8 assists, 5 rebounds and 5 blocks. The 6'5" sophomore guard from Brownstown came one assist away from a triple double the night before vs. Eastern (Pekin), finishing with 21 points, 11 rebounds, 9 assists and 1 steal.
To start the week, however, he pulled off his biggest feat, in a come from behind win over Floyd Central, Benter totaled 37 points (6-12 3PT), 10 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal, including hitting the game winner from about 30' out at the buzzer.
All of that makes Jack Benter the Courtside Indiana Player of the Week for the week of February 14-19
