Fishers' win was a thorough of a win, considering their opponent, at the 4A level in quite awhile.  Noblesville led 3-2.  That led to a 7-0 Fishers run, and that was it.  Fishers' largest lead in the 1st was 16-5.  Noblesville was able to get some traction after, closing the quarter 6-2 and closing the gap to 21-17, but Fishers converted on four straight empty possessions, which started an 18-4 run to close the half.

  • Baron Walker, 6'3" junior guard, scored Nobleville's first nine points.  He was aggressive from the start, shot ready on every catch.  Fouled on a 3pter (3-3 FT), fouled on a drive and two finishes at the rim going left.  Finishing with 15 points, he was their only bright spot offensively.
    • Justin Curry was scoreless in the 1st quarter.  The 6'4" junior guard hit a 3 early in the second to close the gap to 21-17.  That was his only first half basket. He finished with 5 points.
  •  The first quarter for Fishers, it was a heavy dose of Jason Gardner and JonAnthony Hall.  Gardner converted off two rebounds, going end to end without much resistance.  Hall was active off the ball, working off the help.
    • Gardner along with Justin Kirby, 6'4" senior guard headed to Miami (OH), both were effective passing out of paint touches to open shooters.  Both finished with 5 assists.
    • Gardner demonstrated an improved half court presence, showed a better feel for change of pace.  Adding that to his explosive ability in transition, we're starting to see what his ceiling can be.
  • Cooper Zachary was quiet offensively.  He hit his only made basket, 3pter, in the first quarter.  At that, his presence, however, creates space.
    • Same can be said for Millen McCartney, 6'4" senior guard, who has shown on multiple occasions he can top their scoring list for any game.
    • Nathan Baker, 6'7 senior forward, showed 3pt range, hitting a 3pter late in first half.  If that's a regular thing, that's a big development for Fishers, given all the other weapons they have.
  • Two things blew the cap off this game.
    • When Kirby started to get on the scoring column, it was just one more thing Noblesville had to account for.  Kirby, who didn't score in the 1st quarter and most of Fishers' top six didn't play in beyond the 6:00 mark in the 4th, scored all 17 of his game leading 19 points in the middle two quarters.
      • Most impressive with Kirby was his playmaking.  Along with Gardner, Kirby had 5 assists.  He finished the day with 19 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists.
    • It seems like Fishers converted on every Noblesville live ball turnover.
      • They broke the game open in the 2nd quarter, as noted above, scoring on four straight empty possessions, three of which were live ball turnovers.
      • Noblesville had just 13 turnovers, but it seemed as if all of them were live ball turnovers.  Fishers converted on all but one.
