Home Scouting 2022 2022PlayersScouting Scouting ’22: Kaleo Kakalia, 6’6″ power forward; Mishawaka Marian By Zak T - June 29, 2020 FacebookTwitterReddIt Really like this kids upside! Kaleo is someone I was able to see 4 times this last season, and each time I saw an improvement in one part of his game or another. One thing holding him back in the contests I saw was foul trouble. Kaleo is a very aggressive 6'6" wing. He averaged 5.4 points and 4.2 rebounds a game in his sophomore season. Has a knack for putting himself in good spots to rebound. I really look for these numbers to increase over his last two years at Marian, along with his recruiting. Kaleo can move well without the ball, and has shown some shooting and outside range this AAU season (Indiana Elite/Team Indiana 2022), which was something he hadn't shown during the school year. Adding this shows the continued work and improvement to his game that he has put in. He has a nice looking set shot, and can put the ball on the floor and score at the rim as well. Kaleo has also gotten stronger, and is a capable passer. His length is something that definitely helps him on the defensive end, as he can play passing lanes and make defelections. He is also able to make players shoot over him. Really look forward to seeing his continued development. Belmont and The University of Chicago have been in contact with Kaleo up to this point.
