Home Scouting 2022 2022PlayersScouting Scouting ’22: Braden Smith, 6’0″ point guard; Westfield By Jim R - July 31, 2020 FacebookTwitterReddIt Braden Smith is at the top of the list of best vision in the class, maybe the best vision in the state. Leading Westfield to their best season in 15 years, he seems poised to take them higher the next two seasons, as Westfield's top three players are all class of 2022 players. Smith from his freshman to sophomore seasons, he went from being a consistent 3pt shooter to a versatile shot maker, who can get into his own shot, and with the aforementioned vision, he creates a lot scoring opportunities. He can get into modes where he isn't aggressive enough looking for his shot. That was evident in their regular season game vs. Carmel and their sectional win over Zionsville. He has struggled vs length, but many to most do, and Zionsville had a TON of size/length. Smith will time to show he's worked those kinks out of his game, and truly, it's really about staying aggressive in those situations. Overall, he dictates possessions, and his shot making is at a high level.
