MIBFL: Week 1 By Jim R - October 20, 2020 FacebookTwitterReddIt Coach Begley vs. Coach Scott 1:00 p.m. Jeremiah Jones—solid screener, great in the pick and roll Jeremiah Jones—Great instincts to know what to do in pick and roll Evan Williamson---Spot up three-point shooter, terrific form when squared up Kobe Jenkins-Great feel against defenders body positions to attack rim Jake Skinner—Big-man skilled who can step out three-point ball Evan Blackman----Not afraid to stay physical inside, despite size Cayden Young-----Great on-spot catch and shoot three pointe range Isaiah Weiss—Seals up defenders on the block very well, frees up opportunity for him to wreck in the paint Skyler Fivett---Strong guard/forward and great ability to hang in traffic Coach McCmloud Coach Turner 2 pm Michael Howard---Tremendous strength inside, with great athleticism to finish through contact Dayne Gardner---Versatile, skilled, has ability to do what they can to win. Kevin Butler---Great pull-up with opportunity to improve it even more Kendall Johnson—Strong feel for when to go about the game Auggie Durham—Size that might seem to be an issue, but he plays like Earl Boykins. General, hustles, competes Kaleb Edwards---Guerin Catholic---Tremendous athleticism, ability to leap far out Forbes Stowers 3:00 p.m. Thomas Ricks---Great cross-over with both right and left hand being the lead Paul Chandler---Tremendous ability to spot his areas on the floor to attack, particularly wings Matt Brewer---Stocky in size, but has ability to shoot and left-handed big which creates difficulties Kameron Hodge---Ability to get hot very quickly, but can get laid-back fast. Bryson Bond---Looked like the best player on the floor. Had great moves to get to paint and variety of ways to finish. Reamer vs. Linville 4:00 p.m. Braden Strawberry---Smooth game of his, and plays very relaxed which leads to good things Kobe Ward—Tremendous build, but has tremendous hustle and grit. Jack Parenteau===Shows promise through being able to contribute hustle plays, jump shot, and through rebounding. Anybody would want him on their team. Coach Lynch vs. Coach turner 5:00 p.m. JD Lynch---VERY small, but provides phenomenal on-ball pressure at half-court Brendan Latimore---In the paint 6 ft, he is cash. Terrific hook through right-hand, and very solid footwork. Johnson vs. Bonds 6-p.m. Daylon King---Anticipation, ability to recgonize his spots Donovan Rhodes-Off-ball defense—Strength, for his size. Mason Lewis-Tremendous handle, ability to finish through contact. Pest defensively, Kevin Moore-Undersized in height, but has ability to be a 4-5 with high motor Tareek Galadima—Tony Snell style to his game, three and D. Solid shooter when in rhythm, good length on defense. Cameron Parsley-Not afraid of contact, precise cutting off the ball and he is ready for his shot. Donovan Pruitt---Tough finisher with left-hand, good length which can allow him to have edges over defenders. Ability to throw bounce-passes effectively from cross-court. Dion Johnson---Stretch big. Ability to go to post, hesitates in contact. Score: 67-58 Turner Smith 7 pm Leland walker—Great body, lanky with dribble, and can attack rim 12 Braden Smith-Cold blooded, great shooter, DAnte Davis—Tremendous height/vision to pick his spots, but he then can leap with the best of him, jump shot not falling but the athleticism is where he is best. Dayveon Turner---Strong with right foot being lead, can pull-back and change tempo Gabe McNary-Tremendous athleticism, ability to leap over everyone. Patience Edward Jones-Slashes well, uses athleticism to get over the rim on his slashes Jasper Campbell-Shoots, does not give up on plays Walker—Finishing with both hands BJ Smith---Has the ability to change his pace quickly. Keeps D off balance Braden Smith---Control of his game, cause he lets it come to him. Edward Jones---Fills the gaps, does what is needed. McNary---D1 type of talent, potential to develop is absolutlely there Andrew Bennett---Ability to show tremendous vision despite not being as athletic as Turner’s team was. Turner—Quick, but can be out of control 13---Gets where he needs to go efficiently for Smith 80-69Turnerwin Stowers versus Swanner/McCorkle Sean Black---Quick to get shot off, looks to be aggressive with his shot when he touches. Pinkerton---glides through traffic Noah Gathings—Way of manipulating through the dribble to get a strong floater Ethan Osowski—Strong jump-stop, second bounce Clay McCorkle---Good foot speed on defense 24 Landon Swanner-Bigger3/4 Jaylen Carson42---VERY versatile athlete. Ability to switch onto others 1-4 Donovan Barnett-Adjusting to 19 Hayden Ulerick----Ability to get to his shot off the dribble, gets his shot via both hands Jaylen Carson42—Strong right-hand, great anticipation with offensive-rebounds.
