Home Game Center Game Takes Game TakesScouting My Weekly Player Evaluations By Zak T - January 29, 2023 FacebookTwitterReddIt 2023 Lukas Balling - 6'5" Forward - Marquette Catholic - 1K scorer who can stretch the floor with his outside shooting ability. Able to put the ball on the deck and get to the rack. Strong enough to finish through contact. Great from the line. Length helps him rebound, which he does well. Able to post and score or distribute. Would be a solid 3 at the next level and someone worth taking a chance on. 2024 Aiden Austin - 5'7" Guard - Andrean - Small guards like Aiden need to be special to be considered by colleges and play at the next level. He had it goin in this one. Knocked down 3s which opened up driving lanes where he could finish at the rim in traffic. Sits down and defends his position well. Will be interesting to see what happens with him. 2023 Isaiah Malone - 6'7" Forward - Prairie Heights - After going for 12 points, 14 rebounds, and 4 blocks in front of St. Francis assistant coach Cummings he picked up an offer to play in the Crossroads League. The senior was good in this one and played under control. Smooth outside shot that makes defenders respect him around the arc. Length gives him the ability to alter/block shots. With his continued strength gain to go with his post game he could be a real nice player. 2023 Chase Bachelor - 6'5" Guard - Prairie Heights - Tough guard who loves to score it, averaging 21 ppg. Does most of his damage at the basket and inside the arc. Good size helps him fight through defenders and get to the basket. Quick hands and gets in passing lanes to get steals. Like his game and think it translates to the next level. Could see D3s gettin involved here. 2023 Hayden Dase - 6'7" Forward/Center - Kankakee Valley - Saw Haden and this squad a year ago against Portage and they struggled to really get anything going. This year Hayden and teammate Cam Webster stood out. Hayden was a presence in the post and on the defensive end. Good with both hands on the block and has nice touch. Good size and strength helps him get position. Sneaky athletic with length who rebounds well. Gets up and down the floor and can be a rim runner. Size also helps him protect the rim. Didn't look to or shoot outside the arc. Would be something he could potentially add to his game at the next level. But for now he'd be a solid center. 2024 Cam Webster - 6'3" Guard - Kankakee Valley - Love big guards. Crafty lefty who is patient and picks his spots. Almost a little too unselfish for me, but great at getting his teammates involved. Ball doesn't stick at all with him. Great range from outside and stellar passer. Can play the 1 or 2, but probably a 2 at the next level. Will score from all three levels and is great from the line. Elevates nicely in his shot to help shoot over defenders. Will be playing in college in a couple years. 2025 Michael Wellman - 6'5" Guard - Portage - Speaking of big guards, this is one who will be highly sought after. Jack of all trades and does them all well. Defends, handles it, shoots it, controls the game, scores it, leads, and rebounds it. Does it all with consistency. Size and strength he uses to his advantage. Really like his game and what he brings to the table. Plays with swagger. 2025 Garrett Clark - 6'3" Guard - Portage - Another guard with good size and one who can shoot it. Quick to get to his spots and knock down big time shots. Also rebounds position well and gets the ball to open teammates to finish. Rebounds position and loves to run. Defends well. Another one of the Portage players to watch. O'Mari Evans - 5'11" Guard - Portage - Wanted to add O'Mari here because he rattled off 7 straight points at one point in this one all by creating on his own. Finished with 9. Shifty guard who isn't relied upon right now but is capable of going off. A menace on D also. Keep an eye on him going forward.
