Home Game Center Game Takes Game Takes Game Takes: #1 Northwood 64 – Mishawaka 28 By Zak T - February 11, 2023 FacebookTwitterReddIt Once I had heard before warmups that the Cavemen would be without the services of starting senior guard Arthur Jones, as well as starting junior forward Brady Fisher, I knew it would be an uphill battle to an already very challenging game for them. On the other side, the #1 Panthers were hungry for another conference title, which was on the line. Led by seniors Ian Raasch and Cade Brenner, along with their solid role players, it was all Northwood. Ian Raasch - Grace Commit - Had it all on display in this one. Scored at all three levels, rebounded it well, and made some really nice passes so teammates could score. Outside shot is nice too. Really impressed with his defense. Locked up the point guard position with his length and athleticism. Gave Austin Cripe fits at West Noble last weekend. Definitely a player who has developed nicely over the last few seasons and a skill set that will transfer easily to the next level. Cade Brenner - Huntington Commit - Knocked some big shots down both off the dribble and coming off of screens. Big time shooter. Handles the ball well enough, but definitely a 2. Strong and can finish through contact at the rim. Moves well without the ball. Plays with a swagger and confidence that helps set him apart from who is defending him. Sneaky quick first step. 2025 Tyler Raasch - 6'8" Forward/Center - NorthWood Long with a little athleticism, Tyler is still pretty raw. Had a couple nice moves inside where he was able to finish with good touch. Good footwork too. Blocked a couple of shots and altered many more. Definite presence in the paint. Look for him to continue to add skill and strength over the coming years. Has Grace and Huntington offers already. 2024 Rasauun Johnson - 6'3" Guard - Mishawaka High motor and works hard. Did all he could to help his team in this one. Doesn't lack confidence or grit. Made a couple nice plays where he got himself to the rim and finished through one. Also found his teammates for a couple buckets. Was held to 2 points in the first half and finished with 12. Rebounded position well. Just a tough night all around for the Cavemen.
