The 2nd game of the night at Seymour was the New Albany Bulldogs taking on the Jennings County Panthers. The Jeffersonville Red Devils put a running clock on Floyd Central in the first game and advanced to Saturday night's final. New Albany had revenge on their minds as JC beat them earlier in February by 2. From the opening tip the Dogs took control. JC never let the game get away and for most of the first half NA held a slim 3-5 pt lead. The margin swelled to 8 or 9 by the 4th but JC had one last comeback in them and got the game down to 3. A strange technical foul was given to the Panthers after a made basket. Appearently the ball was throw over the ref so a delay of game tech was called, possibly. Regardless, New Albany's depth and athleticism was too much for JC to overcome tonight as the Dogs held onto a 76-68 win. Also notably this looks to be Jennings County's last time playing at Seymour for the sectionals as they will be moving down to 3A beginning next season. Truly an end of an era for the Panthers in Seymour.

● 6'5 New Albany athlete Chris Lampkins was active and all over the place for the Dogs tonight. He was a matchup that nobody on JC had an answer for, especially down low. I say his position is an athletic swing because he is forced to play inside at NA but he's really a 3. He began the game showcasing his athleticism with a thunderous dunk over his defender. That set the tone early that New Albany wants another shot at Jeffersonville on Saturday night. Lampkins even stepped into an end of the half 3 at the buzzer to show his range. Chris will have his work cut out for him tomorrow night against Jeffersonville big, Tre Singleton. Tonight he finished with 19 points.

6'4 junior 2- guard Rylan Schrink also looked near unstoppable tonight for the Dogs. His dribble drive, step back jumper was falling all night. Rylan is a smooth lefty that has good size for his position and is one of more underrated players in southern Indiana. He's another talented class of 2025 kid in an area and state full of talented junior players. Schrink showed some toughness after scoring a basket, letting Panther Jr. Carter Kent know that it's his game tonight. Rylan will play at the next level somewhere once he leaves NA, but first him and his Dogs have a sectional title to go after. Rylan finished with 20 pts and played as well as anyone on the floor.

● 6'0 JC guard Carter Kent finished his junior season with another big game in a year that he's had lots of them. Kent is a legitimate Junior All Star candidate going into next season, and with current sophomore Parker Elmore coming back from a missed season due to injury, look to be one of the favorites in 3A south next season. Carter is just not a scoring guard, he's a point guard that can score. He is a very willing passer out of the double and finds open teammates. He also knows when its time to go get his. In an up and down season that saw the Panthers beat Brownstown and Scottsburg but also finish under .500, Carter is a huge reason to be optimistic going into next year. He's arguably JCs best player since his dad Rob played back in '98. You could also make an argument Parker may be their 2nd best player since then as well (if he comes back fully healthy after football season next yr.). JC had a magical run with last year's group of 6 or 7 good seniors but Carter will keep the Panthers on the prowl next season. Tonight he finished witha game-high 26 pts whil senior sharpshooter, Cole Sigler finished his JC career with 12 pts. and classmate Will Barnes had 15 pts.

In a year of sectional uncertainty the two big boys of Sectional 15 will square off on Saturday night at 7:30. New Albany v. Jeffersonville once again for a championship.
