If ever a game saw the 3PT shot shape the tone of a game, it was this game.  Noblesville started hot, hitting three early 3PTers on their way to a 12-4 lead.  Carmel scraped their way back, including a couple of 3Pters of their own.  Luke Almadovar buried a near half court 3PTer to close out the first half, and it seemed like whenever one team hit a 3PTer in the second half, the other team would answer with one of their own.

As the clock was winding down, game tied, Sam Orme closed out tight on Almadovar, who quickly dished it over to Cooper Bean, and Bean buried the final answer of the night, the last of his trio of 3PTers in the second half.

  • Almadovar led all scores with 22 points.  He shot well in the first half from the 3PT line, in the second half he was more of a driver.  Orme was guarding him much of the second half, and he struggling getting through screens.  In fairness, Orme wasn't getting much help from D-screener.
    • Carmel made a nice adjustment in the final quarter, putting Jake Griffin on Almadovar, holding him scoreless for the quarter.
  • Almadovar was most of Noblesville's offense throughout, until the final quarter, when Bean hit a trio of big shots.  Bean is much better of a stationary shooter than off the dribble, took advantage of open looks as more attention when Almodovar's way, most certainly including the game winning shot.
  • Carmel had a more balanced attack, Orme leading the way with Griffin and Bonds eclipsing double figures too.
    • Noblesville did a great job keeping Alex Couto and Spencer White from getting clean looks from the 3PT line.
