Hall of Fame Classic at New Castle HS

11:00am - Blackford (6-0) vs. Shenandoah (6-1)

Along with Blackhawk, Blackford and Shenandoah are two favorites to compete for the 2A title.  Shenandoah is more balanced than Blackford with more options, and while Blackford has more capable weapons in Grimes and the freshman Wore, they are super reliant on Brown.  Shenandoah has to get the ball out of his hands early in possessions and make the others beat them.

  • Blackford
    • Luke Brown, 6'2" senior guard (Stetson)
    • Landon Grimes, 6'5" senior forward
    • Jackson Wors, 6'4" freshman forward
    • Max Wors, 6'3" senior forward
    • Dawson Hundley, 6'0" sophomore guard
  • Shenandoah
    • Jakeb Kinsey, 5'11" senior point guard
    • Michael Howard, 6'4" senior forward

12:45pm - Fort Wayne Blackhawk (6-0) vs. Barr-Reeve (6-1)

This 'rematch' of the 2019 1A title game comes a week after Barr-Reeve gave Carmel all they could handle on the road.  BR's schedule has been stronger than FWB's up to this, but FWB's schedule considerable tougher starting today.

The marquee match-up is Caleb Furst vs. Curt Hopf.  Both 6'9" senior centers.  Both skilled facing the basket.  BR does more to get Hopf shots away from the rim, while FWB runs a lot of offense through Furst at high post, where he showed vs. Silver Creek he's an excellent passer.  The main recipient of those passes, Zane Burke, as Furst's high post spacing give Burke plenty of room for him to finish.

  • Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian
    • Caleb Furst, 6'9" senior center
    • Zane Burke, 6'2" senior guard
    • Marcus Davidson, 6'0" senior guard
  • Barr-Reeve
    • Curt Hopf, 6'9" senior center
    • Hagen Knepp, 6'3" junior guard
    • Brycen Graber, 6'3" senior guard

Gary West (5-1) at Lawrence North (5-0)

LN's grind of a schedule continues, and one of the few times of the year they will have a size disadvantage.  The headliners are Washington for Gary West and LN's Hughes and Gunn, but it's the battle of unsigned senior guards, Peterson vs. Avance, that should shape up to be the most fun to observe.
