The master of junking up the paint, they will have to contain Braden Smith's constant attacks along the baseline. No one makes the drift pass any better than Smith, and as you widen out to contest, he'll find the big circling to the front of the rim. It'll be a pick-your-poison affair, as Cam Haffner is rarely more than a +1 pass away and Alex Romack is an excellent finisher in the paint. That's when Smith is as his best, making others better. Connersville is balanced and willing to be methodical. They have plenty of shooting options as well. Tobey Billups, Lucas Barron, Josh Williams and Kaleb Sparks each have 3pt+ range, and they don't lose much when they go to the bench other than size.Westfield ShamrocksNic Book 6'7" center (2024)Trey Buchanan 6'1" point guard (2024)Charles Farrell 6'2" shooting guard (2024)Armani Middlebrooks 6'4" power forward (2024)Will Harvey 5'9" point guard (2025)Durante Morton 6'1" small forward (2025)Rylan Rauch 6'2" shooting guard (2025)Connersville Spartans12:30 PM Homestead (7-3) vs. Cathedral (4-2)While the season produced more 4A contenders, Cathedral and Homestead are still among the core favorites. Ultimately it was Zionsville's size (not just height) that gave Homestead trouble. Cathedral has a mix of pure height in Xavier Booker and size in Jake Davis. If Cathedral goes man, the juicy matchup would be Jaxson Edwards vs. Fletcher Loyer, but Cathedral has a couple of more options to throw at Loyer. Loyer has developed into more of a playmaker this year, an evolution that makes him doubly hard to guard, as he has the brothers Leeper to help him. Andrew, who is developing more of a faceup game, is still a threat around the basket, and his younger brother Grant has proven to be very reliable. Homestead has to solve the Tayshawn Comer puzzle too, as his abilities off ball screens is potent. He has a lot of options around him as he gets downhill, including being able to score at the rim or mid-range.Homestead SpartansTucker Day 6'7" center (2024)Will Jamison 5'11" point guard (2024)Cathedral IrishBrady Koehler 6'7" small forward (2025)LeBron Gough 6'0" point guard (2025)Keaton Aldridge 6'4" small forward (2026)Deric Cannady 5'10" point guard (2025)Anthony Fields 6'2" shooting guard (2024)Sheldon Gatlin 6'7" power forward (2024)Aiden Hughes 6'3" small forward (2025)USA YH Summer InvitationalLocation: Fishers/Noblesville/Westfield3:00 PM Marshall (IL) (4-7) vs. Northview (6-4)7th Place GameMarshall (IL) Northview Knights4:30 PM Bloomfield (8-1) vs. West Vigo (7-3)5th Place GameBloomfield CardinalsBlake Neill 6'1" shooting guard (2026)Lance Workman 5'10" point guard (2025)West Vigo VikingsZeke Tanoos 6'3" shooting guard (2024)6:00 PM Sullivan (8-1) vs. Edgewood (4-6)3rd Place GameSullivan Golden ArrowsCooper Bock 6'5" power forward (2026)Marcus Roshel 6'0" shooting guard (2024)Javyn Woodard 5'9" point guard (2024)Carson Granby 6'2" shooting guard (2025)Edgewood Mustangs7:30 PM Linton (10-0) vs. Terre Haute North (10-0)Championship GameLinton MinersJackson Miller 6'0" point guard (2026)Terre Haute North Patriots RELATED ARTICLESMORE FROM AUTHOR Game Takes: State Finals @ Indianapolis.
