7:30 PM Mt. Vernon (4-1) vs. New Castle (7-1)

Mt. Vernon visits New Castle still looking for a signature. However, the margin of victory over Decatur Central was impressive. They feature the IUPUI bound Jarrard twins, Ahmad and Armon, both skilled and athletic guards. Razhaun Wells and Avery Williams are through their football legs, and Eli Bridenthal contributes in a number of ways.

New Castle has a couple of nice wins under their belt in Jay County and New Palestine, if early season success matters, and win over a former NCC foe (Marion) is never a bad thing. Gavin Welch, Trey Miller and Dawson Scott head up their production, but they get contribution from a number of players.

  • 7:30 PM Beech Grove (6-1) vs. Brebeuf Jesuit (5-1)

(Game at the Hickory Gym in Knightstown) After a trio of OT games, Brebeuf has handled their last three games with ease. They get into a meatier schedule over winter break, starting with Beech Grove. The Braves feature Billy Smith, Miami (OH) commit, and he gets plenty of help from Alex Gothard and Marial Puou. A trio of guards contribute, and Jack Hogan helps up front.

Beech Grove has scheduled up and done well. Anthony Ball is one of the better junior forwards in the state, and he's provided them a boast after his transfer over from Southport. It's a balanced group behind him, but the playmaking of Jeremiah Alexander is key for them. (He could probably stand to be more aggressive on both ends of the floor.)
