Southport is still battling some injuries. Heritage Christian, which has had an influx of transfers off Colvin's AAU team, lost to an LN team without CJ Gunn and was throttled by Columbus North.Heritage Christian EaglesSouthport Cardinals7:30 PM Bloomington North (2-0) vs. Franklin Central (2-1)(2:00pm at Southport) JQ Roberts is a fun watch, given his motor. Nick Klaiber and Marco Fitch attack off the dribble and both are unselfish. Lyna Brooks is one of the top sophomores in the state, and Franklin Central is aided in the transfer of Dhani Flanagan from Cathedral. Both teams rely heavily on player movement.Bloomington North CougarsLuke Lindeman 6'5" small forward (2025)Franklin Central FlashesEJ Hazelett 6'7" small forward (2026)Carson Back 6'1" shooting guard (2025)Darrius Helm 6'7" center (2025)7:30 PM Central Noble (3-0) vs. Barr-Reeve (4-1)(3:30pm at Southport) Central Noble features Conner Essegian and Logan Gard. Taking on Barr-Reeve, led by Hagen Knepp, is off to a 4-1 start in the wake of one of the more successful classes to go through Barr-Reeve.Central Noble CougarsBarr-Reeve Vikings7:30 PM Zionsville (4-0) vs. Crispus Attucks (2-3)(5:00pm at Southport) Zionsville comes in as the hottest team in Indiana. 4-0 vs. whom they've beaten is as impressive a start as any team in a long time. Logan Imes is the real deal, and Nick Richart and Isaiah Davis are starting to make an impact on the glass. Crispus Attucks took on some late summer prep school transfers, and they are relying on youth and one transfer. Christian Nunn is the transfer, and he's performing well. Freshman Dezmon Briscoe is going to be a good one...he is a good one. Nor will it until, maybe, depending on who their first matchup of the City Tournament is. It's good seeing the top teams load up, and Covington Catholic fits that bill. The Colonels have a trio of stars in juniors Evan Ipsaro, 6'1" point guard, and Chandler Starks, 6'6" forward, and senior Rylee Mitchell, a 6'8" forward. Covington Catholic (KY) Cathedral IrishBrady Koehler 6'7" small forward (2025)Keaton Aldridge 6'4" small forward (2026)LeBron Gough 6'0" point guard (2025)Deric Cannady 5'10" point guard (2025)Aiden Hughes 6'3" small forward (2025)7:30 PM Homestead (3-1) vs. Westfield (2-1)(8:30pm at Southport) Two Purdue commits square off, in Homestead's Fletcher Loyer and Westfield's Braden Smith. Westfield is the second of six Indy area schools Homestead is playing this year, four of which are potential Regional foes out of Sectional 8. Homestead was impressive defensively in their win over Carmel, especially the interior presences of Andrew and Grant Leeper. Westfield will get another chance to play a team with legitimate size, which has been a problem for them. The continued devlopment of Alex Romack will help as they progress toward March.Homestead SpartansWestfield ShamrocksWill Harvey 5'9" point guard (2025)Durante Morton 6'1" small forward (2025)Rylan Rauch 6'2" shooting guard (2025)Other Top Games Today7:30 PM Fishers (4-0) vs. Carmel (2-2)The second of two sectional foes Carmel faces over the weekend. Fishers was one of Carmel's two one-point regular season losses last year. Under Ryan Osborne Carmel has had three losses by the end of December. With their schedule, it could happen again. Each time, however, Carmel has still found success in March.Fishers TigersJonAnthony Hall 6'1" shooting guard (2025)Justin Kirby 6'3" shooting guard (2025)Nathan Baker 6'4" power forward (2025)Millen McCartney 6'3" shooting guard (2025)Logan Sigler 6'2" shooting guard (2025)Jason Gardner 5'9" point guard (2027)Cooper Zachary 5'8" point guard (2027)Carmel GreyhoundsEvan Harrell 6'8" power forward (2026)Julien Vogt 6'5" shooting guard (2026)Alex Couto 5'9" point guard (2025)Jamichael Fountain 6'0" point guard (2026)All eyes are on Southport for their slate of games. It's an impressive schedule, featuring six games. RELATED ARTICLESMORE FROM AUTHOR Kentuckiana Summer League Day 1 Indiana v. Kentucky Junior All Star Game Game Takes: State Finals @ Indianapolis.
