Marion County Tournament (semi-finals at Southport HS)

Lawrence North is playing with a chip on their shoulder.  They are a prohibitive favorite to win county, but their path has been the hardest to this point and continues to be for them to win.

6:00pm - Lawrence North (11-0) vs. Pike (8-4)

  • Lawrence North
    • DJ Hughes, 6'7" senior forward
    • Shamar Avance, 6'2" senior guard
    • CJ Gunn, 6'5" junior guard
  • Pike

    • JJ Louden, 6'4" junior guard
    • Eddie Jones, 6'5" senior forward

7:30pm - Ben Davis (5-6) vs. Warren Central (6-4)

Warren Central seems to have gotten the ship going in the right direction, winning four of their last five, while Ben Davis ended their four game losing streak leading into this week.  In their defense, their early season schedules have been brutal, but these are the types of games they'll have to in March...and this weekend.  More of the same.

    • Clay Butler, 6'2" sophomore guard

Other top games this evening...

Madison (8-2) at New Albany (7-3)

The best game in SE Indiana on this night.  Madison has been in this spot the last two years, feasting on the first part of their schedule, only to struggle in late January and February.  The latter part of their schedule is tougher, and this is the first of a brutal five game stretch.

  • Madison
    • Luke Miller, 6'2" senior guard
    • Luke Ommen, 6'1" senior guard
    • Kaden Oliver, 6'1" sophomore guard
    • Nick Center, 6'4" senior forward
    • Jackson Falconberry, 6'5" junior forward
  • New Albany
    • Kaden Stanton, 5'11" junior guard
    • Tucker Biven, 6'0" junior guard
    • Jordan Thomas, 6'7" senior forward

Loogootee (9-2) at Barr-Reeve (10-2)

The Battle of Buggies!  To be blunt, these two schools are the face of small school basketball in Southern Indiana, especially in the Southwestern Indiana.  22 years of class basketball.  Loogootee has 7 sectional titles, 4 regional, 2 semi-state.  Barr-Reeve 10 sectional titles, 7 regional and 7 semi-state titles.

Basically, the winner of their sectional typically owns it all the way through March.

  • Loogootee
    • Silas Bauer, 6'6" senior forward
    • Payton Bledsoe, 6'4" sophomore wing
    • Luke Nonte, 5'11" junior guard
    • Jordan Wildman, 5'11" senior guard
  • Barr-Reeve
    • Curt Hopf, 6'9" senior center
    • Hagen Knepp, 6'3" junior guard
    • Brycen Graber, 6'3" senior guard

Homestead (13-0) at Fort Wayne Snider (6-3)

Good news, bad news for Snider.  Good news, they have the offensive fire power to have a fighter's chance.  Bad news, Homestead has more.  Snider is going to have to buckle down defensively.  Both teams like to play fast, and that just let's Goode and Loyer have more space.

  • Homestead
    • Luke Goode, 6'6" senior guard
    • Fletcher Loyer, 6'4" junior guard
    • Andrew Leeper, 6'5" junior forward
    • Grant Simmons, 6'4" senior forward
  • Fort Wayne Snider
    • Karson Jenkins, 6'1" junior guard
    • Aiden Lambert, 6'2" junior guard
    • Tyler Harding, 6'2" junior guard

Valparaiso (7-2) at Michigan City (8-1)

Valpo has the size.  Michigan City has the quicks.  Scoring 30 on Gary West, Hodges will have another chance to show he can finish among the trees.  Valpo has a promising sophomore as well in Jones.

  • Valparaiso
    • Colton Jones, 6'2" senior guard
    • Breese Walls, 6'1" junior guard
    • Cooper Jones, 6'5" senior foward
    • Mason Jones, 6'7" sophomore forward
    • Thomas Barone, 6'10" junior center
  • Michigan City
    • Jamie Hodges, 5'10" sophomore guard
    • Evan Bush, 6'4" senior guard
    • Tahari Watson, 5'10" senior guard
    • Omarion Hatch, 5'9" sophomore guard
