Marion County Tournament semi-finals at Southport

6:00pm – Lawrence North (12-0) vs Ben Davis (5-7)

Winners of three of their last four, including a revenge win over Franklin Central, Ben Davis might be finding their stride a bit.  Going forward they’ll do it without the services of senior guard Kai Steinmann, who transferred to Aspire Academy (first reported by Kyle Neddenriep earlier today).

7:30pm – Lawrence Central (13-1) vs Pike (11-2)

A rematch of an earlier game, LC escaped at the buzzer with a win over Pike.  All but one of Pike’s games vs Indiana teams have been close, regardless of success of opponent.  Features of a relatively young team.  LC has been impressive at almost every turn this season, and it will be hard for them to not be looking ahead to a rematch with LN as they fend of Pike’s revenge.

Finals of the Southern Indiana Conference Tournament at North HS

Culver Academy (6-4) at South Bend St. Joseph’s (9-2)

Now that Culver has their Galloways back–Coach Mark missed the first four.  Trey missed the next four due to an injury–they can focus on the rest of the season.  It’s an Indiana recruit vs. a Notre Dame recruit (JR Konieczny).

    • Culver Academy
      • Trey Galloway, 6'5" senior guard
      • Nick Hittle, 6'9" senior center
      • Deontae Craig, 6'5" senior forward
      • Jokubas Skurdenis, 6'2" sophomore guard
    • South Bend St. Joseph's
      • JR Konieczny, 6'7" junior guard (Notre Dame commit)
      • Adam O'Dell, 6'6" junior forward
      • Jack Futa, 6'5" junior forward
      • Cole Hatkevich, 5'11" sophomore point guard

Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian (10-2) at Fort Wayne Bishop Luers (6-3)

Luers best answer for stopping junior center Caleb Furst might be making life miserable for those who mean to pass him the ball.  Look for Furst to have a big game, but look for the difference in this game being the turnover and free throws attempted columns.

    • Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian
      • Caleb Furst, 6'9" junior center
      • Zane Burke, 6'2" junior guard
      • Marcus Davidson, 6'0" junior guard
    • Fort Wayne Bishop Luers
      • Demarcus Hudson, 6'4" senior forward
      • Naylon Thompson, 6'5" junior guard
      • Jalen Causey, 5'11" senior guard
      • Landon Moore, 5'9" senior guard
      • Nick Thompson, 6'1" freshman guard

Silver Creek (11-1) at Bloomington North (10-3)

The defending 3A champions continue to challenge themselves on their way to defending their 3A title in March.  North has stumbled a bit since the start of winter break, but they likely will have notched their second win a row before facing the Dragons.

    • Silver Creek
      • Trey Kaufman, 6'8" junior forward
      • Kooper Jacobi, 6'5" junior guard
      • Brandon Northern, 6'0" sophomore guard

Westfield (9-1) at Lafayette Jeff (13-1)

Westfield looking to get back into the win column during what is still their best start in well over 50 years.  As well as Westfield runs their Blocker-Mover motion offense, they likely won’t get much of a chance to run it vs. Lafayette Jeff’s varied zone looks.

    • Westfield
      • Braden Smith, 5'10" sophomore guard
      • Nic Depasquale, 6'1" sophomore guard
      • Cam Haffner, 6'2" sophomore guard
      • Benji Welch, 6'0" junior guard

      • Brooks Barnhizer, 6'6" junior guard
      • Avery Beaver, 6'2" senior guard
      • Ashton Beaver, 6'1" junior guard
