Crispus Attucks enters with a four game winning streak. While playing the easiest porition of their schedule heading into City, this young group is doing what they should be in those games. The win over Chatard in the quarterfinals was a good one, but Cathedral will be a bigger challenge.

Cathedral's season has been interesting. In each of their three losses to Indiana teams, they had major lapses of focus and effort to some extent. They were down to Tech by 19, Westfield by 26 and Carmel by 22. They have a lot of weapons, so when they're engaged they're a load, and they've shown that by controlling most of their Homestead win and pounding Mishawaka Marian and New Albany, two teams that have had much tighter games with other 4A elites this season.

Winning City and eventually each round of the state tournament should provide that sense of urgency. That voters don't think they're among the top 4A teams in the state shows why 'polling' is irrelevant.

Tindley gets to play David tonight, facing Golliath in Tech. Both teams like to play with pace and play in the 70's and 80's. Tech has a size and shooting advantage. Tindley is relentless getting downhill. They certainly do have shot makers, so it could even out if the right guys get loose, just that Tech has more of it.

Tech entering with an 11-game winning streak is better when the ball is moving and they take advantage of the length they have around the basket. It opens up their shooting for sure. Games like this come down who has more extra possessions -- offensive rebounds, fewer turnovers and advantage at the 3PT line.

Anytime you get two top contenders for Mr. Basketball, it's a game to watch. CJ Gunn is behind a bit due to injury, but a game like, team success notwithstanding, can go a long way to wedging himself back in the race. Fletcher Loyer is checking a lot of boxes, but Homestead, which didn't lose a game last year until the Regional, has struggled beating other top 4A teams since their win over Carmel early in the season.

Valparaiso has won five in a row and has been impressive in the new year. Mason Jones has upped his production a bit during this time, which has made difference. Warsaw has struggled a bit of late, including a loss last night to Concord. Jaxson Gould, who had struggled with an injury, appears to be healthy, putting up 28 points last night.

New Castle, winners of eight of their last nine games, beat Yorktown at the buzzer last night. Gavin Welch's half court heave hit the heart of rim for a three point win. Welch, Trey Miller and Caleb Grow should face a tougher challenge tonight vs. Wapanani. Isaac Andrews and Aiden Franks are two high level shooters in their own right, and much like Fort Wayne Snider, those two carry a huge offensive load for their team.
